NEW: On 7/16/2023 at 9:00 AM a/an Severe Weather Emergency event began to impact New York City. During this event, New York City experienced the following hazards: Flash Flooding, Air Quality, and Thunderstorms. Event related weather hazards were felt in the Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. The event lasted until 7/16/2023 11:59 PM. Road closures from flooding in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens, along with 89 citywide power outages were reported. Ground stop due to thunderstorms was issued at JFK Airport, LaGuardia Airport, and Newark Airport. NYCEM issued a travel advisory.
