The New York City Emergency Management Department today issued a travel advisory for Monday afternoon, September 5, through Tuesday, September 6. According to the latest forecast, there will be on and off showers and thunderstorms, some of which may be heavy, beginning now through Tuesday evening. The bulk of the rainfall is expected beginning tomorrow evening through late Tuesday morning and may produce flash flooding. NYC Emergency Management and its partners have activated the Flash Flood Plan. Crews from the Department of Environmental Protection and the Department of Transportation are inspecting and cleaning catch basins in neighborhoods and roads vulnerable to flooding.
