The storm dropped 20.5 inches of snow and had a NESIS rank of 5. New York City schools closed for the first time since Blizzard of '78. Snow accumulations of more than 30 inches were reported across portions of New Jersey. The storm was a federally declared disaster (DR-1083), with $21.3 million in eligible damages for all affected counties
