Narrative

F0 tornado. Ran for 2 miles; width of 17 yards. A tornado borne out of a waterspout swirling over lower New York Bay spun ashore in southeastern Staten Island. The skipping tornado moved ashore at Midland Beach, near Miller Field. It moved across New Dorp before entering Grant City. A one-block residential stretch of Fremont Avenue from Edison Street to Clawson Street suffered the brunt of the twister's damage. Fortunately, only three minor injuries were reported.
