Event Summary

A wave of low pressure riding along a cold front produced scattered showers and thunderstorms that resulted in heavy rain and flash flooding in portions of New York City and Nassau County. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority reported flooding blocking the ramps to the Throgs Neck Bridge in both directions on the Cross Island Pkwy in Beechhurst. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority reported the ramp from the Whitestone Bridge to 14th Ave. was closed due to flooding.
