Event Summary

A passing mid-level disturbance triggered severe thunderstorms that produced large hail and damaging winds across the Lower Hudson Valley, New York City, and Nassau County. A tree was down across the railroad tracks near Gravesend Neck and Neck Roads in the Sheepshead Bay section of Brooklyn. Multiple vehicles were stranded in flood waters at the intersection of 48th St. and 37th Ave. in Woodside.
