Narrative

Penny size hail was reported in Great Kills. Large tree limbs were reported down on Leverette Avenue in Great Kills. A female, age 49, was injured while in contact with scaffolding at the Richmond County Family Court Building, 100 Richmond Terrace, when it was struck by lightning. Clark St. was closed at the Brooklyn Queens Expressway due to flooding. The entrance to the westbound Staten Island Expressway (I-278) from Richmond Ave. was closed due to flooding. In addition, floodwaters were 1-2 ft high on Richmond Terrance near Nicholas Ave. in the neighborhood of Port Richmond. Exit 5 (Houston St.) on the FDR Drive southbound was closed due to flooding. A traffic sign was reported down on the Grand Central Parkway. In the neighborhood of Morrisania in the Bronx, 3rd Ave. in the vicinity of the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital was closed due to flooding.
