Event Summary

Narrative

An approaching cold front across central New York State triggered numerous severe thunderstorms across the region. Damaging winds and large hail impacted many areas, from the interior to the coast. In addition to the wind and hail, a tornado produced damage in and near Newburgh, New York. The Department of Parks and Recreation reported 27 downed trees across Staten Island. A two foot diameter tree was downed.
