Thunderstorms developed ahead of a cold front the afternoon of the 16th...with 2 particularly potent bow echoes. The first moved through Rockland and Westchester counties, producing extensive damage across south central portions with a microburst associated with a bookend vortex on the left hand side of the bow. The second bow echo moved through Staten Island (Richmond) and Brooklyn (Kings), producing a Gustnado in Brooklyn. Trees downed.
